There was a storm going on around us
The wind was strong enough to blew us all away
It was downright chaotic
but I couldn't help but feel at home.
The afternoon of July 8th was a complete contrast to its morning. This morning the sun was shining , the birds were chirping, and everything was bright and sunny. This afternoon however, took a 360 degree turn. The winds were howling, the trees trashing around, and the storm was in full swing. One could say that it was a bad day to go out with your friends. But, my friends could make a bad day an unforgettable one.
We were at Grill Eat, an outdoor hang out in San Vicente when the rain started pouring. It was an open space composing of only two bahay kubos and a large open porch. We were staying at one of the bahay kubos but the rain got stronger making us wet so we moved to the large porch. We were all compressed in the middle along with the other customers. The rain showed no sign of stopping soon but as I looked around, instead of feeling fear, I felt overwhelming joy. My eyes were met with my friends doing things one does not usually do at a time like this. Some of them were playing snakes and ladders, one connected their phone to the speaker instantly spiking up a party, they were all dancing, singing, and some went into the rain. My heart swelled at the sight of these people having the time of their lives at the most unconventional occasion.
I wanted to keep living in that moment,
let the rain pour,
let the lighting strike,
let the thunder roar,
let the wind take all the yesterdays and tomorrows,
this moment is all I need.
